Douglas County Arrest Records
Arrest records are documentation of criminal histories and cases as they progress through state and federal justice systems. Douglas County arrest records are public under the Kansas Open Records Act (K.S.A. 45-215 et seq.). They give insight into law enforcement activity and give citizens an avenue to view arrest records and court proceedings related to them. Not all arrest records are publicly available, according to court records. Restricted records include juvenile records, sealed records, expunged records, and records of ongoing investigations. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office and the Douglas County District Court Clerk are the custodians of arrest records. Information contained in public arrest records includes
- The arrestee's full name
- The date of birth of the arrestee
- Booking date and time
- Name of the arresting agency
- Description of the charges and the accompanying statutes
- Bail or bond information
- Case number
- Court information
